Since 1992 Blue Hill Antiques has maintained a large shop in Blue Hill village that specializes in stylish items from 1750 to 1950. Marjorie Kernan and Andre Strong, the owners, both have a background in fine art and art history, and have used this to create a unique approach to the antiques business, creating a showroom that blends styles and mixes the unusual with the practical. Many of the goods come from local estates, in an area that has a long history of fascinating summer homes.
Blue Hill Antiques is also known for it's informal French antiques, which the owners buy direct in France, traveling there several times a year to seek out and purchase the best that French dealers and markets have to offer, then ship the goods back by ocean container.
